Connecting The Dots … and Building Dreams Together.

Mind Map, Building Dreams TogetherThe diagram above is a mind map; a diagram that visually outline information starting with one idea. Mind mapping avoids dull, linear thinking (remember writing pages after pages of notes in college?) and challenges our mind to capture/present an idea visually. This tool helps structure information in a way that facilitates analysis, recall, and further idea generation. So allow us to explain how Home Creations is helping people build their dreams of homeownership. Continue reading →

National Open House Weekend

HomepageBanner_NOHWApril 20-21 is National Open House Weekend and several of our fully-furnished model homes and move-in-ready market homes will be opened for home buyers to tour. According to the National Association of Realtors, buyers of new homes use open houses much more frequently than do buyers of previously owned homes.

The National Association of Home Builders reported that building permits for new residential housing in the Oklahoma City area are up 38% as of Feb. 2013 over the last year. Tulsa has seen a 45% jump. With the interest rates at a 40 year low, Home Creations is excited to help more people start their journey towards homeownership. Check out a video about interest rates from CNN Money.

For the past 30+ years, Home Creations has helped people achieve their dream of homeownership through the construction of quality and energy efficient new homes across the Oklahoma City and Tulsa metro areas. Visit one of  our communities this weekend and learn about the value of a new home and the ways one may own a Home Creations home. The gallery below shows a sampling of move-in-ready homes in our communities across the Oklahoma City and Tulsa metro areas.

Beauty of our homes is not only skin deep …

WallPhoto_BehindTheWallsWe have always encouraged home buyers to make an educated decision when they invest in a home. Along with Home Creations’ highly popular Home Buyer Seminars, we have also made our model homes a one-stop shop for home buyers to learn about the value of a Home Creations home.

One unique feature is found in the model home office, where sections of the walls and ceilings are exposed to reveal different types of insulation, the duct system, and tornado safety features – all with the goal of helping home buyers understand the value behind the walls of their future Home Creations home.

“Home Creations builds several enhanced features into our homes that go over and beyond standard building codes,” explained Anita Brown, Director of Sales and Marketing. “We are proud to say that the beauty of our homes is not only skin deep.”

Since 1999, Home Creations has added three tornado safety features in all of our homes. This structural integrity makes the homes safer and gives our homeowners added peace of mind. This “look behind the walls” corner will help educate home buyers about the quality of the home they purchase. It provides an informative step in helping people achieve their dream of homeownership and ensuring a long term good investment.

You may visit Home Creations model homes in Deer Spring (North of NW Expressway off Piedmont Road) and Clearwater (Northwest corner of SW 59th Street and Council Road) to take a look behind the walls of a Home Creations home.

R8s R Gr8!

When Home Creations‘ owners first started building homes, they received a 21% construction interest rate for their first home. I bought a new home in 1981 and locked in an 18% interest rate for a primary residence. I can remember how grateful I was when we refinanced at 12%.

In the early 2000’s, everyone was thrilled that rates dropped below 10%. Then, in 2004 rates began to go below 7%. But, no one ever thought they would go below five. Currently, rates are below 4% on a fixed 30 year loan, and we have closed some as low as 3.5%.

What does that mean to buyers? Over the course of your loan, it can mean thousands of dollars in interest you won’t pay, but immediately, it means hundreds of dollars a year less in your monthly payment. A drop of 1 point can mean about $90 a month on your monthly payment, on a $150,000 loan.  It also means you can qualify for more house than you would if rates were higher.

So, the big question hanging out there is: “How long will rates stay low?” You would have to be a psychic to answer that question, but usually, “what goes down will go up.”

All this to say, BUY NOW! Home prices across the nation are rising, which is good for home owners, but buyers need to purchase now or expect to pay more in the coming months. Low interest rates and existing lower home prices equals the perfect combo for buyers. Don’t miss out.
